Your journey, day by day

  • Day 1: Cusco – Quillarumiyoc – Tarawasi – Cóndor Canyon

We will pick you up from your hotel in our vehicle at 7:30 am in the morning and then go to the town of Limatambo for approximately 2 hours, throughout this trip we will visit 2 very important archaeological zones such as Quilarumiyoc (Temple of the Moon and Fertility) and Tarawasi (Tambo del Inca) that with the help of our professional guide we will understand a little more about the Andean worldview, and its architecture, we will continue our trip by track paved to the Huayronca bridge; Here we will take an unpaved route to the community of Chonta, this trip will ascend to 3400 meters above sea level. During this trip we will make stops at some key points to take photos with the Salkantay Mountain and the Limatambo Valley. We will arrive at the town of Chonta at approximately 12:00 hrs where we will enjoy our delicious lunch observing the Salkantay Mountain. After lunch we will begin our walk of approximately 1 hour and a half along a wide and very beautiful path with a temperate climate to the viewpoint of the Cóndor Canyon at 3350 meters above sea level. From this point we will have the opportunity to witness the impressive Andean condor in its natural habitat. We stand at the viewpoint and wait for the condors to arrive after their daily activities. This wait will not be for long since the condors normally return in the afternoon between 3:00 pm to their nests. Here you will have the opportunity to see and photograph the condors from very close up, some less than 20 meters away for an average of 2 hours. After seeing the condor we will return walking to the town of Chonta where our vehicle will be waiting for us to return to the City of Cusco arrival time at approximately 7:30 p.m.
