Your journey, day by day

Day 1: Cusco – Maras
1.Maras: The town of Maras will be our first point of visit; which was of great importance during the Viceroyalty, declared Villa de San Francisco de Asís (it was the main supplier of salt in the southern mountains), as demonstrated by the church and the mansions that still preserve the shields of indigenous nobility on their facades.
2.Salineras de Maras: The Salineras de Maras our second point of visit belongs to the town of Maras, which was of great importance during the Viceroyalty, it was the main supplier of salt in the southern mountains, as demonstrated by the church and the mansions that still preserve the shields of indigenous nobility on their facades. The Maras Salt Mines surprise the visitor with the more than three thousand wells it presents and which are currently still being worked by more than 360 families, who have inherited this custom and artisanal extractive work; The commercialization of salt is in charge of the Maras Sal association, in charge of ensuring the interests of the community since the late 1980s.
3.Moray: Our visit ends by visiting the circular terraces of Moray, which are an example of how Andean man challenged nature and took advantage of their geographical environment to use it for their benefit. These circular terraces served as an agricultural laboratory that allowed us to obtain a wide variety of species of potato, corn, among other products.
